So we arranged for this install for today around 11AM. Then I went and f$#k'd up my ankle on Sunday - tried to get back into a soccer league for the first time in about a year. As a result, I missed a couple days of work, am now hobbling around on crutches, and I've found that it's reeeaally difficult to drive, etc., etc.
So lo and behold ... I forgot the appointment.
My apologies Luke! Let it not be said that customers are always right.
I've e-mailed Luke and we're working out another day/time. I hope to stick to it this time - or at least communicate if I can't make it. Sorry again Luke!
Medical Note: The ankle is badly sprained. I've sprained ankles before but this one is by far the worst. I thought it was broken for awhile but the X-rays show otherwise. It's already turning a nice shade of dark purple on the inside.

Got in to see Luke at 4 yesterday. Things went smooth (I even did a tire rotation while he had it up on 4 jackstands). Watched the other guys work on a couple other cars (dropping the tranny and ripping the clutch out of a heavily abused WRX in particular).
Huge difference! The braking feel is much more firm (something I've always complained about with the Forester), and the braking distance is improved. Enough so that I almost got rear-ended on the way home (she dodged to the shoulder and I dodged to the left side of the lane).
Thanks Luke!!

Just got the brake lines installed yesterday. Unlike Jason I haven't noticed that much of a difference in braking feel but there is a subtle change. I really did this as a step toward greater participation in AutoX (and maybe a time attack or two) next year.
Thanks to Luke, Marti and the crew at VIP Garage. They had me out of there quick and back to work in no time ( thanks a lot ).
For those who may be considering this special for their own car, let me make a comparison for you...
VIP Garage Special:
Techna-Fit SS Brake lines + ATE Super Blue fluid + Installation = $150 (+tax)
Trolling some internet sites for prices:
Same lines ($104) + same fluid ($16 for one can) = $120 + installation and tax ...
Considering that my install took about an hour/hour and a half, I doubt that anyone will find a shop that'll charge $30 for that much labor.
This is a great deal and it'll draw you to what promises to be a good shop. I'm looking forward to seeing what else VIP can do for me.
