i have heard nothing bad about
Kuhmo MX's
Yokohama Advans/Parada Spec 2's
Bridgestone RE750/850's
tires...

I cannot chime in with useful information here as I don't have much experience with street tire choices; but I am ramping up as well since we have more than few STX/STU cars to prepare for next season. So, I'd appreciate the information as well
On the other hand, pretty much all tire companies are coming up with new models, so you should not make any buying decisions this early for next season; unless you have to. We'll know more about tire model early next year.

The (Potenza) S03's are miserably overpriced and overrated IMHO. They're good but it's almost $200 a tire mounted and balanced for 17's. You can get some excellent tires for a lot less. Pzero Nero, Kumho MX, Azenis, F1 DS3, or if you are not driving hard on them, get some good all seasons.
