Ptuning dcawd dyno day?

Post by spazegun2213 »

Alright, so ptuning had a little open house today and i attended a little bit of it. He said that he offered us a dyno day and remembered i was in the club... so he asked me to post up and start organizing it.

Here is what i know:
  • We need 14 or more cars
Ptuning will supply food, drinks, ie this will be a nice event
The date is tbd, but if we pick a weekend 1-2 months out, he said it should not be a problem.
Price, is tbd depending on the number of cars.
So what do you all think? want to start planning a date, and i can get pricing narrowed down this week?

Hey Ross,
I'm sure we can get something together in 2-3 months without any problems. I'll give Coung a call this week to figure out the details :)

I don't really need a dyno run (no new parts since the last one) but I'm available for moral support.

I'd be all for it.
I might even do a few pulls (if the price is right).
This could be big fun!

I can do this - better for me to be on a Sunday though. Hopefully I can get the UTEC and intake installed beforehand. Perhaps a tune. PTuning does UTECs, right?

Also depends on the weekend. I've got a lot of stuff coming up the next couple of months.

I'd Assume they do utecs, If not, I'll jump in there and tune that bizotch (i used to own a Utec)! Odds are I'll be there for a baseline and a few maps but no tuning really.

Sundays in good weather are reserved for hockey for me, so I voted Saturday.

I don't have a burning desire to dyno my car, but if we are short people, I would attend depending on the date and my housing situation.

Ross, thanks for the post.

We had a great turnout for the Capital Driving Club/Ptuning open house. Ross had mentioned that the DCAWD club might be interested in a dyno day/open house event as well. I'm just trying to gauge interest in reserving the our dyno the whole day for such an event.

We need a minimum of 14 cars to reserve the dyno for the entire day. This will be a great opportunity for us to give the DCAWD members a tour our shop and demonstration of some of our equipments. The dyno pulls will be $65 for 3 pulls w/o AFR, or $75 for 3 pulls w/AFR both includes a dyno printout. For AFR measurement, we utilize an Autronic Model B WB O2 controller with an NTK O2 sensor (the most expensive and accurate O2 sensor on the market). And of course we'll provide the food and drinks for the event.

If there's an interest, let me know and i can setup a date and reserve list.

Hey Cuong,
Thanks for posting up! I think we could definitely get enough people interested, just a matter of picking a time and such. I'll call you tomorrow to iron out some other details!

Take care,

How does it work if we already have a WB O2 and can data log it ourselves? You just need to tie into the OBDII port for the dyno run, correct? Or if you just plug into my WB controller/display will you still charge the $10 for it to be on the graph? I have a PLX M300 WB w/ USB ...BTW.

As long as it's not the weekend of the 19th or the 26th (wedding followed by honeymoon) then I'm in. Also, possibly going to a friend's bachelor party over the weekend of the 5th.

In fact, maybe we could shift this to June?

It also allows our president time to get his turbo and alky injection set-up.
