used oil container
what do you guys use for this?
i've had one of these blitz reservoirs for awhile, but am unhappy with it.
the problem is that the big opening on top leaks, it doesn't close tight enough. this is a problem since i live in an apartment and generally bring the oil container back up to my apartment before taking it to the shop for disposal. leaky used motor oil is lame.
recommendations on a replacement? thanks in advance.

I use a simple oil catch "pan" its a hard plastic pan with 3-4" tall walls and a spout for pouring. I use an empty milk gallon or apple juice container to pour the oil into when its cold, and then dispose of the containers later.
I think i have 3 gallons of use oil sitting in my garage right now

I use a larger container that you can get at any autoparts store that holds ~10+ quarts. I also had one of the ones you show which worked like crap. Yeah, I usually dump it off into some containers and then later take it to the gas station down the road. The local government gives these places money to recycle the used motor oil so they should not charge you 1 penny. If they do, they are just scamming you.

Laundry detergent bottles from the recycling on the corner. It is amazing how many gallons of that stuff a family can go through.
The E-Z pour spout can come out and it gives you a good three inch wide lip to pour yor cold oil into.
