After meeting all the Ptuning gang, i cannot WAIT for their new place to open! My race car will probably live there between the dyno, lifts, alignment rack and corner balancing

It was greating talking to some of you from the dcawd club. It's going to take a while for us to remember everyone's name. But so far i've met, Julian (STI), Ross (STI), Gabe (WRX), and zaxrex (still don't know name).
I told Ross that we were a sponsor for the http://www.capitaldrivingclub.com autox events held at Osbourne Park HS in Manassas, VA. As a sponsor we are allocated 8 reserved slots for the autox event. For the next event, TBD, we would like to invite any member here who may be interested in running. The event is usually held on Saturdays. You get 3 runs in the morning and 3 runs in the afternoon. There is only one class (run what you brung). We'll have our ptuning tent setup, along with an air compressor for filling tires. We'll also provide free drinks. It's a great opportunity to autox your car without having to actually join the club first.
If anyone is interested let me know and i will post the next event on this forum. Again, i enjoy being part of an "Active" club. Anybody up for a backroad run up to thornton's gap (211&skyline drive) I usually ride there on my motorcycle, but i would like to try it out in my car.

During the spring/fall, we usually end up doing a couple of drives out in Haymarket. Definitely let us know if you all do drives and we'll always post ours up on the boards here as well.

Well skyline drive is a nice scenic drive, but for me, the fun part is the backroad up to the 211&skyline drive interection called Thorton's gap. The section of road on 211 at thorton's gap is basically a short stretch of very tight twisties (similiar to the dragon's tail in tennessee, but not as long). The backroad up to this point is like what you see when you watch the WRC cars run through the small towns and countryside during the tarmac event. Of course, we'll have to keep it within the speedlimit to stay out of trouble.Mr Kleen wrote:I've heard about Skyline drive but have never driven it. heck, I don't even know where it is... I would be down for a country drive sometime.

See you 'round.
I got it BTW, how did the name "scooby" become synonymous with subarus. Is it because pronouncing subaru sounds like pronouncing scooby doo? Inquiring minds wants to know.

Thanks for the info. We've always gotten the detuned model for everything. But that may change, now that the manufacturers realized that there's a demand for these high-strung tuner cars in the U.S.

The last time i spoked to a subaru rep and asked him, "what made you decide to finally bring the wrx to the state?", his reply was, "Some guy from the east coast kept calling them everyday, leaving hundreds of voice messages, begging them to bring the car to the states." So i guess we all have you to thank youMr Kleen wrote:as an avid Gran Turismo fan (pre-ordered the first one waaaay before it came out ) I like to think I had a hand in Subaru deciding to bring the WRX/STi to the US.

Also, is there any update on the building progress from PTuning...I really need to get an alignment done after I install my springs.

We are an authorized distributor for both Tein and Tanabe. I'm currently running the Tanabe Seven on my Evo 8. It's definitely a streetable coil-over setup. I'll be installing the TEAS system in a few weeks.
Here's some manufacturers we are looking to add to our distribution program once our new facility is up and running:
APS Performance (air power systems)
Autronic (ecu)
Motec (ecu)
M&W Ignitions
Whiteline Suspension
Turbosmart

Forge Motorsports
Eibach
Cusco
ARP Bolts
Cometic Gasket
Turbonetics
Jackson Racing Superchargers (superchargers for honda/acura)
VF Engineering (superchargers for euro cars)
GIAC (ecu flash for euro cars)
Precision Turbo
AWE Tuning (Audi turbo upgrade)
APR (Audi/VW turbo upgrade)
Evolution Motorsports (Porsche 993/996/997 twin turbo upgrade)
