Fiberglass info, and an unexpected pic...

Post by Mr Kleen »

I was looking around for fiberglass and CF info when I came across this pic on www.FiberGlast.com

they have black fiberglass that looks like CF but costs half as much. they also have aluminized fiberglass that looks like silver CF. maybe if I'm lucky I'll have a garage this winter and can experiment. anybody want a sub enclosure?

Good choice putting $4,000 rims on your 1990 Honda Civic. That's like Betty White going out and getting her tits done.

I might be tempted to leave that one to the pro's. we can do the prep work on the trunk but I'd leave the bondo and repaint to one of Will's buddies.

that...car...is....

...

how could they do that to a subaru...

oh and that website makes me laugh... their pic of "their fiberglass" and "real carbon fiber" are identical pics with different names...

i wanst 100% sure so i saved both pics and then inverted the colors on the one.. overlaid it over the other pic... and made it 50% opaque.. the result?

false advertising ftw!

oh dont take me the wrong way... i believe they can get it looking like carbonfiber... but at LEAST make an attempt to have different pics when you say "this is ours" and "this is the other kind"

Okay so here is the plan:

1) Gabe, you get practicing on that carbon fibre usage/forming/molding

2) We then have you do every possible piece of my car in carbon fibre...I will definitely need a new hood after I get my FMIC.

3) I show off your handy work which in turn gets you LOADS of business

4) You give me a certain percentage of that return for being the model

5) I in turn take that money to help make my ride the fastest and lightest forester in the WORLD!

Sounds good, huh?

Seriously, I would like that hood. Nobody makes them for the forester population.

yeah, a hood, OK. I think I might start out a little smaller first... but if I don't have a garage this winter there will be no project at all. and it's looking like I'll be stuck in the apartment for yet another year.
