professionals are VERY welcome, especially if they aren't concerned with their car being in the shoot. it's so much easier to go guerilla style, park the car, have the photog jump out to snap pix, then back in the car and off to the next location...

Some one needs to bring a step stool or a small portable ladder (one that can stand on it's own). Also, a big white board to deflect sunlight would be a plus.

So our photo shoot is "sometime the weekend of the 12th"? Can we narrow down a specific date?

If it's Saturday evening I may have to do some fancy scheduling since I usually have a soccer game at 4pm out in Reston.

Also, any concensous on a location or locations?

P.S.: I'm trying to get my car cleaned for this weekend. It needs it BAD!

Mine is pretty bad too, inside and out. I haven't washed it for months. I still have mud spatters from a back-road trip over July 4th weekend.
We're going to need to make some hard choices hre soon.

Touch up paint
Paintless dent fixing kit (confounded shopping carts)
Meguiar's Car wax
Scantily clad 20-25 y/o female to adorn my... well... :rolllaugh:

Weather says the op is still a go.....however, methinks that interest appears to be dropping off at an exponential rate.

Probably because we still don't know where we're doing this yet.

Okay, so I'm still in for this. Just let me know when and where. I hope to have my car cleaned (inside and out) by then.

I have to step out for at least Sunday to go down south. I hope to leave Friday and come Back Sunday, but work will dictate that.

Sorta sucks taking care of a house 3hrs away.

sorry everyone, I had to attend to some family business in Ohio. I left early Sunday and didn't get back until 3am today.

I went out last Saturday early and just drove around taking pix. DC is pretty quiet until about 8:30 on Saturday, but the rising sun is behind the Capitol so those didn't turn out to well.

I haven't had time to clean the car yet and it's pretty bad after back to back 8 hour drives. since this was my idea I'll do my best to support the group but my car probably won't be in any condition to "show."

This has kinda fallen apart. Do we even have a list of people attending?
Do we have any ideas of where and when we are going to meet or where we are going to go? The Mall, capitol and monuments are good ideas, but the devil is in the details and this can all go to hell fast if we don't make some decisions soon. We may even want to postpone it another week or two so we can get our ducks in a row.

I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes. I'm as much to blame as anyone, I certainly haven't done my share of the work on this.

We might want to postpone it two weeks to give ourselves time to organize better.

I agree with postponing this. This sucks but if we want this to come together better, we should definately have everything organized in advance. And I strongly feel that we should do this. Our club would definately benefit from a tighter "image" to help attract like-minded enthusiasts.

I'll add "scout locations" to my list of things to do. Maybe I can provide some good ideas this time (since I didn't help with planning this at all).

Might just want to get a couple people together and take pix, sort of an individual thing. more than a couple cars will be difficult to coordinate. I'll try to get my pix posted this weekend to give everybody some ideas, maybe put together a thread where everybody can post the DC regional pix they've taken.

might also be cool to get a group together and just cruise around DC taking pix/video along the way?

yeah, great idea but those devilish details...

I don't think we should abandon this yet.
I think it's a great idea and we just need to set some day/time have some places scouted out and get as many people as possible. Beyond that, what ever happens, happens.

:plusone: to both of you :) I'm going to be looking around as well. I had thought an industrial park would be a fun spot too.
