Disable Seatbelt Alarm in '06

Post by Libra Monkee »

Holy Crap!! I don't know if this is permanent or not or even if this works. But this method sounds like some kind of old school cheat code.
GetUpInDer on wrxtuners.com wrote:For starters don't think I am advocating not wearing your seatbelt!! Wearing your seatbelt will save your life, a seatbelt has saved mine twice. For those who have the new '06 WRX and simply dont like being reminded while your car is warming up or your changing CD's it goes like this.
1. Ignition on engine off.
2. Within 30 seconds of turning on your ignition buckle and unbuckle your seatbelt atleast 20 times. It is usualy easier to do this not sitting in the seat. If you get it right you will know right away ( no chime ). It took me a couple of times to get this one so if it doesnt work the first time keep trying.
3. To get the chime to work again remove negitive lead to battery for 30 secs than replace. Chime will work as normal.

Well I wear my seatbelt too but at times when I'm just sitting in the car and not moving (i.e. changing CDs, on the phone, taking a nap [lunch break]) it'd be nice not to have the chime going off constantly.
