Actually, unless you just have to have 400whp, a turbo swap on an EVO is just not needed. I keep seeing more and more stock turbo EVOs hitting such high numbers that I'm convinced it's just not worth it. Add an intake, o2 housing, turbo-back exhaust, cams, exhaust and intake manifolds, better IC piping, and alky injection with a good tune and you will get dang close to 380-400whp. Depending on boost, you may need a fuel pump and injectors, although I've seen a number that hit 350whp+ on the stock fuel system. That said, the 10.5 cm hotside would be a good addition if you don't have it already.sabre wrote:^^^ Yes, run faster with cams and a new turbo!!!! You've got the spirit Darrin!

^^^ Wow, I'm shocked they don't need new injectors till then! Very impressive about the stock turbo too! I'm always amazed that an old (but awesome) engine is still cranking out numbers like it does.

Remember the Z06 still uses a small block V8 developed in the '50s. Yet look at it's numbers. The cast iron block is only a small part of the EVOs story. An excellent turbo, efficient good flowing heads, with well designed valving. All in an engine that is fairly easy to work on. it also should be pointed out that the cast iron block is going to be dumped in the X!

^^^ Oh really? Why the change? Are they going to Al.?
Good point about the Vette. I'm just suprised that newer engines havn't surpassed them in ability. The new Honda engines (like used in the Ariel) seem like they are going to be awesome for use in turbo applications.
