Yeah, Subaru can't afford to be the small quirky unique car maker anymore.
Take no risks, and still get reward? Makes good business sense in that way.
I mean who is going to argue with 23% sales increase?

Way to go, Matt!

Bah. Subaru I am disappoint. I had high hopes with where the design language was goin. Guess it'll be another year of dreading when a truckload of leggy's pull up.

Yeah the 23% increase is due to the BRZ, WRX/STi, XV, Forester and Outback. It definitely wasn't due to the Leggy, Tribeca and Impreza.

But we have sold a butt ton more Impreza 5 Door, Sport and Sedans than we have in previous years.

It does look like a Fusion. But in my mind that's not necessarily a bad thing as I like the Fusion. Except ... it looks a little too much like a Fusion. Not enough distinguishing features. I'll put it on the "maybe" pile. After all, it looks better than the current gen.

The front is a huge improvement but I'm afraid the profile is "droopy" just like the Impreza. That's not a design language I lust after.
And, lest we forget, the boxer rumble is gone.

Yep, that was my thought. It's looks match the Impreza a little too much. I understand the "same sausage different lengths" idea that the German's have utilized low these many years, but I'm not sure it works here.
I guess I'll just have to be happy with my '05 wagon for now.

Just learned this from the actual release this morning. 6 Cylinder now comes with CVT-20/28/23 mileage. Pretty huge news.

No turbo DIT though. Sad banana. No Leggy Wagon. Double sad banana.

That is really nice to have as an option. But at what cost?

Cost should be similar to the current 5 speed.

First the wagon goes, then the turbo?
I don't get it. Ford, Hyundai, Kia and GM are all putting turbo fours in their mid-size cars.
Then Subaru (who already has a turbo 4) decides to drop it?
Alas poor Legacy, we knew you well.

Yerp. They've had the 2.0DIT in the leggy, leggy wagon and Outback for the current generation for years now. We lost the turno sedan in 2012. Subaru of America is def trying to thin the heard of available options for our cars.
No Tribeca after this year, Outback Sedan N/A or Turbo, No Baja N/A or Turbo, No Leggy Wagon N/A or Turbo, etc.

Makes no sense, business or other wise. The new 2.0DIT 5/6MT/HDCVT gets better mileage than the outgoing N/A models. It can run on 91 easily and can run on 87 in a pinch.

While we're on other Mfrs - GM is releasing a 2.0 turbo diesel for the Chevy Cruze. Meh.

Oh yeah. No Manual trans what so ever for any of the models. If you want a Leggy, you're gettin a CVT.

I'm shocked they killed the legacy wagon... maybe i just notice them more, but it seems to me half the subaru's on the road are legacy wagons.

The Legacy wagon was discontinued in 2008.
The Outback and Outback GT became the only option.

Good choice putting $4,000 rims on your 1990 Honda Civic. That's like Betty White going out and getting her tits done.
