The 2013 BMW X1 crossover is finally hitting U.S. showrooms. BMW has just unveiled two special editions of the X1, the Concept K2 Power Ride and the X1 Power Ride Edition. According to BMW the BMW X1 Power Ride Edition will be available in showrooms, especially tailored for those who make the most of winter on the slopes. The BMW Concept K2 Power Ride is a reflection of the adrenaline rush of full-speed downhill fun.

The K2 concept is the result of a three-year cooperation between BMW and winter sport equipment supplier K2. Valencia Orange metallic paintwork is complemented by a distinctive graphic whose design takes its cues from a limited-edition K2 ski. A central element of this crossover graphic is the stylized image of a fox, which forges ahead of a dynamically penned X from the rear of the car to the front doors. The concept also gets an extra eight millimeters of suspension travel over the standard model and 19-inch light-alloy wheels in Ferric Grey with polished spokes. The Ferric Grey trim of the front and rear sills and side skirts emphasise the car's uncontained forward momentum over snow and loose ground.

The special edition X1 Power Ride features the xLine, roof rails in aluminum satinated trim and a storage package, including a front armrest. It also gets winter accessories such as the the 460 roof box, a ski and snowboard bag sporting a design specifically created for this model, all-weather floor mats and a fitted luggage compartment mat. Buyers also get an exclusively designed pair of K2 LTD Powder Ride skis, available only in conjunction with the X1 Powder Ride Edition.

The market launch of the BMW X1 Powder Ride Edition is scheduled for November 2012 and the special-edition model will be available in the US in both BMW X1 xDrive28i and X1 xDrive35i guises.
I'm kinda digging it.

Good choice putting $4,000 rims on your 1990 Honda Civic. That's like Betty White going out and getting her tits done.

I can see this with the new N20, down-pipe, tune at a nice solid 300 whp / 320 lb/ft.
What I can't see is buying one for $40k+ which is what even the cheapest is going to set you back.

the MINI Countryman version goes for $35k so naturally the BMW is going to be more.

The X1 is pretty popular over here. So popular that BMW didn't have the plant capacity to bring it to the US. I like it but I'm not sure if you can get the AWD with a manual transmission. I'm also curious about how much BMW left on the table with the N20.

Burger Motorsports has a Beta already an on a stock tuned 328i these are their claims:
Power gains on an otherwise stock car are up to 45 horsepower and 60 torque (35hp and 50tq at the wheels). Installation is very discrete and it quickly removes without a trace when needed. Fuel economy during normal driving is unchanged. During closed course GPS VBOX testing our 2012 F30 328i 0-60 times improved from 5.4 seconds to an incredible 4.9 seconds!
