It was CRAZY busy so I didn't feel comfortable doing my first lap ever, but I did get a ride-along in a 1M. I'll post more pix tonight after I go through them.
Until then here's a panoramic shot of the carpark
Too much sun (I hate saying that in Germany) for a good shot, but you get the point.

Re: Spent the day at the 'Ring
The brake upgrades are done but I'm still on the stock RFT's. Hopefully my new wheels/tires will be here soon... I almost went out but I wasn't 100% comfortable so I decided to wait. One of these days I'll go on a weekday tourist drive, maybe even drive down the night before and get a hotel room so I can be there at 08:00. I know I can drive my care safetly around the course, it's the OTHER drivers (and the bikers) I'm worried about.
Speaking of bikers, there was one who was a right bastard to us during the 1M ride along. He weaved back and forth across the road and wouldn't let us pass. In the corners he slowed way down but kicked it hard in the straits so that Mike couldn't pass. He even took the carousel slowly instead of taking the outside path. People like that nearly ruin track days.

Tons of 1Ms and Focus RSs, not to mention several Corvettes and a number of Subarus. Just a crazy eclectic mix of cars out there. I'll let my [mediocre] pictures speak for themselves:

Who did you bribe to get such nice weather?
I bet that place was jammed packed.
How many closures did you see? Seems like good weather always causes accidents.

It was so packed I didn't drive. Does that tell you anything?
2 closures: 1 for 45 minutes; 1 for an hour. No serious injuries.
check out my post about today's trip
