Aha Radio in the Subaru BRZ hands-on

Post by Libra Monkee »

Aha Radio announced this week that it'll be an optional extra in 2013 Subaru and Honda autos. Vehicles so equipped will have the ability to listen to thousands of web radio stations and apps -- like Slacker and MOG -- alongside the regular AM / FM and satellite radio rotation. A short jaunt from our trailer at CES, we grabbed a quick demo with a Subaru representative aboard the 2013 BRZ.
Just as long as it doesn't play "Take on Me" over and over.

Would you like to know more?

Schveet! The new Subaru Forester/Impreza NAV is the ish. It looks almost exactly like the Pioneer Avic Software.

I don't want that, I want something that integrates seamlessly with my android phone.

while i think this is an inevitability with in car entertainment, i think a universal standard (bluetooth based perhaps?) would be a better solution. doesn't make sense to isolate to one particular breed of phone. personally, i've used bluetooth audio streaming from both ios and android devices with great success.

of course, there also is something to be said for locally stored maps in your gps unit... not everyone has the same awesome blanket cellular coverage that the dmv area enjoys.
