Re: Black River Stages 9/23-9/24
so for those of you that were wondering why we were so concerned about our "cousin" tingwu/brady and dobasu/richard...
we were working on texas stage when we heard the red cross go out. We witnessed one of the competitor cars frantically looking for a radio, not knowing what had happened. As it was described to us, tingwu/brady went off the road on a fast downhill left, going into the trees at ~50mph. the codriver tried to run out of the car to throw the red cross, but they were on a downhill section. factor in the cars were only a minute apart, and the next thing you know, vio dobasu/natalie richard comes over the crest, but it's too late.
They manage to dodge martin brady, but end up going off at the same spot as tingwu. vio manages to crank the car to the right at the last second, narrowly avoiding tingwu's car, and hitting the trees right next to tingwu, albeit at a much lower speed. All four were rushed to the hospital - *somehow* there were no broken bones.

Wow, I don't know what would have scared me more, being the offee and seeing another car heading at me, or being in the other car barreling towards another person.
Glad the story went this way.

Wow, just wow.
Hate to hear/see things like this, but glad to hear no one was injured.
Could have been much worse.

DAMN, that is a hell of a situation and a wreck. VERY happy to hear everyone was able to "walk" away from it without serious injury. What was with such tight timings between the cars?
