the last one arrives today so I'll get the car cleaned up and wheels mounted tonight. I'm very happy with the way they turned out....good contrast in the colors and the polished SS lip ties in with the chrome on the car (which I've never liked much but have left it alone).

neither. New PSS. 245 up front and 265 in the rear; they run 1/2" wide compared to most summer tires and the rear wheels are 9.5" so I didn't want to push my luck with a 275/30 like I had on the AMG VI's (with GY F1 Asymmetric)

not the best pics but quick and dirty for tonight. Car is cleaned up and we're going to Cars and Coffee in the morning where I'll get better daytime pics with the SLR.

Good news is that they fit great with no apparent rubbing so far. I was conservative with the tire sizing just to be careful. It's certainly pretty tight in the rear as these Michelin PSS run 1/2" wide for their size. So, a full 10" of contact patch in the rear despite being only a 265 width tire. From a quick spin around the neighborhood, the car definitely has a TON more grip and sharper turn-in (not surprising given the Conti DWS that were on there).

thanks.

in case anybody was considering the Michelin Pilot Super Sport/PSS....DO EET!! Amazing tires. That, coming from somebody who had RE01R's, Advan A048R's, F1 Asymmetric, etc. Better than the PS2/PS3 and probably on par with Pilot Sport Cup's from everything I've read (but in a more durable compound and with rain traction).

Ditto, beauty wheels my friend.
From everything I've read, the Pilot Sport Cup's are some of the best street/track tires on the planet, but they do have their drawbacks:
1. Poor on wet, even when compared against some that also do not do quite so well themselves. Apparently the pattern is that they break w/o much advance notice and do not tend come back.
2. Very fast wearing. Which is disappointing considering how pricey they are.
3. They "sing" after about half the tread is gone. Apparently they generate a high pitched whine at speed once they wear past 50% or so.

I think you were wise to go narrower on those rears.
You would not guess that they are 265 vs 275.

No kidding. I learned a long time ago to shop by specs, not by size. I had 245/35/19 on the front of the AMG wheels I just sold to make room for these. The Outer Diameter (OD) and tread width on these PSS were nearly the same specs as the F1 Asymmetric, although one "official" size smaller (235/35/19).

My main concern was that I moved from 8"/9" on the AMG set to 8.5"/9.5" with these BBS, with the extra 12mm residing outboard. That, combined with oversized actual dimensions had the possibility of causing issues. BBS fit these wheels for the C63; although my car shares that chassis, it doesn't share the sheet metal so I couldn't be 100% sure about tire sizing.

Good choice putting $4,000 rims on your 1990 Honda Civic. That's like Betty White going out and getting her tits done.
