Speaking of wheels...

Post by zaxrex »

I have a nice big slice through my sidewall. First time having to park on the zoned streets of Arlington, and I get popped.
Anybody have a spare wheel/tire or a 235/45/17 tire I could borrow to go get my set from down south?
I don't want to do the 220 mile trip on the donut.

Pretty please?
Or how about 3 more spares? Wait, no, that would still be driving on donuts...

Actually, I have several 225/45/17's that you can have. I've been meaning to get rid of them, but have just been lazy in getting them out the door. They are in my attic right now.

I have a complete set of 225/45/17s Sumitomo HTR+ on SDR wheels that you could come and swap for your trip if you like.
I also have 4 225/45/17 Falken 512 Ziexs in various stages of wear that you could have as well.

Well now. that is an enticing offer, Dr D.
Would you mind if I took you up on your offer to borrow some of your wheel stash? Swing by this evening maybe?

I should be around all night.
The wheels are in plastic in my basement.
I'll pull them out for you.
Do you want all four?

How about two wheels? Do a whole right side replace.

I would recommend both front or both rear... That way the extra loading is limited to your center diff. If you do both rights or both lefts, you put stress on both your front and rear diff.
