Agreed! I'd rather have something on underneath. Some trimming maybe in order.
don't trim. if you cut out enough to clear the headers their may not be enough to even attach to the car and what is left will be too flimsy to hold up. just take it off and stay away from puddles and gravel roads until you get a skid plate.

Take a look at my group buy on skids plates recently. It's a VERY nice piece :)

Good choice putting $4,000 rims on your 1990 Honda Civic. That's like Betty White going out and getting her tits done.

I was thinking that and then was thinking damn, I'm a few months too late. I'm going to look at the under carriage tray tomorrow night and see what is happening. If it is touching, then I'll most likely get the skid plate from Primitive.

I trimmed my heat shield last night, sorry Gabe, and was able to remove the rattle :nana: I tried to cut the least amount off as possible. I first tried to use a pair of tin snips, but they wouldn't even dent the metal. I had to fall back to my dremel. I then pulled the under carriage tray off and didn't see any melted spots. So, it looks like it was just the header wrap smoking and smelling. I've driven my car twice now and the smell has gotten weaker.

One thing I did notice and wanted to see what you guys thought,

The headers are touching in that spot. Thanks again!

You'll want to trim that with your dremel as well before it rubs through the header. How does the power feel now? There should be a BIG improvement!

Thank you! I just wanted to make sure. I haven't really opened him up yet. I wanted to make sure everything was taken care of first, before I started playing.
