HyperFlow Top Mount Intercooler

Post by 02SilverWRX »

Hey guys i also posted this in the engine threads, but anyways, I stopped by a buddy's house today and he told me he was having money problems and also that he is trading his 02 WRX in on an 05 but needs some cash for a down payment... He offered me His Hyperflow top mount intercooler for my stock top mount plus $100-150, is this a good deal? never really heard of hyper flow and cant find too much info about them...

Hyperflow was the original intercooler brand that TurboXS sold, back in the days of the bugeye. It is a nice core that originally sold for $800 new.

If it's in good shape, it's totally worth trading your stock TMIC + $100.

...assuming it's in good condition.

Ohhh Hyperflow (not Hyperspeed). They're stuff is excellent. For $100 plus your TMIC, I would say grab it. Just make sure you get all the hoses so it bolts up w/o issues.

Yes, it was installed on his bugeye, it has the usual couple bent fins but nothing major, probably actually in better shape than my stock one, he has all the clamps and hoses and i have an extra y-pipe with silicon hoses in my basement so i think i am going to grab it and install it today!

Okay, sorry got the intercooler on yesterday, i notice bigger power gains in 4th-5th gear but it seems like a little less responsive in 1st gear... 2nd-3rd feel similiar to stock... I suppose once the car is tuned everything will be well worth it... Well here are two pictures that i took earlier, sorry they are bad because they were taken with my iPhone and it was in the garage with little light... i will try to get more later on today when i wash the car... Okay actually i have to post on another one because the iPhone is not letting me sync...

You may want to remove your splitter, or at least the rubber seal, to allow more airflow over the IC.

Glad to hear it fit w/o any issues!

I actually put a turboxs ws-rbv on right after i took the pictures so it is 100% recirculating now, and that means that i am matching turboxs hyperflow intercooler with his partnering bov ha ha... so i finally have matching parts...
