Motor and trans mount help! Please!

Post by heyitsjeff »

Hey y'all,
It's been a while as I've moved to richmond but my girl friend still lives in Arlington so I figured I would reach out here. I purchased the sti group n motor and trans mounts for my 2011 and I just realized I don't have access to any sort of lift down here... Would anyone be willing to give me a hand? You can be compensated and I can drive anywhere, I just don't want my engine to fall upon my face.

Thanks!

Hey Jeff!
Would you mind stopping in Springfield on your way to/from Arlington? If you don't mind, we can knock them out pretty quick :)

And if you don't want to make a diversion, I'm in Arlington.
Don't worry, the motor will not drop down on you unless you have removed the transmission and subframe.
1.) Put car up on ramps.
2.) Unbolt stock mounts
3.) Use jack to raise up trans
4.) Remove/replace mount
5.) Jack up one side of the engine, remove/replace mount and repeat for other side
6.) Buy me Newcastle

That would be awesome Julian! When would you have some spare time? Really appreciate it, also got a dp and cbe if your interested in helping. I'm sure I can do that all myself though if not.

Thanks again,
Jeff

Hah sorry, I didn't see you offered your help, just an outline of what to do. I'll gladly take anyone's help just let me know when! Plus I love Newcastle.
