The engine was rebuilt in 2005. On the dyno it was pumping 302HP to all four wheels at 20lbs boost on pumpgas.

I knew you had a lot done to that car, but that is a LOT more than I was expecting! Very nice build :)

Honestly, how long did it take you to remember everything you've done to that amazing car? That's one awesome build.

Thanks. I have a pornographic memory.

That was just the stuff I had to to write when I posted. Add Zenon headlight bulbs, Wurth headlight wiring connectors, custom front bumper, KYB strut mounts, cruise control removed, single throttle cable, MachV powder-coated valve cover, Sparco steering wheel hub, LongAcre high density rollbar padding, Slowboy J-pipe, Cool-Tube O2 wire loom, M3A car alarm w/ hood sensor, .....

Great looking car. Love the mods you chose (and not just because I'm rocking most of the same :D ) Definitely not a dyno queen build, a much more functional car. This thing must crank when you race it.

The skidplate

Post by prorallycodriver »

Took some pics of the skidplate today to share w/ someone on another forum who wanted to build one.

Image

And here is closeup showing tapered section for suspension clearance.

Image

And the battle scars! Lots of scratches but once it got dented pretty well and took a major pounding with sledge hammer to straighten out. First I tried running it over w/ forklift (forklifts are really heavy) and it didn't budge the dent.

Been awhile since I've updated this. I did a time trial race at Summit Point on the main track last weekend. Some recent mods include deleting the ABS system, stainless brake hoses, AEM wideband, silicone radiator hoses, K-Sport gravel rally suspension. For the time trial I was going to use some Hoosier slicks we had at the shop but last minute a customer rented our BMW drifto car for the races run w/ the time trial so I got stuck w/ street tires on Mustang rims. Did not bother getting camber plates yet so car was very high at lowest coilover setting without screwy camber.

Need larger brakes. At some point before I had the car, seems my spindles got swapped w/ a non-turbo and it has tiny rotors so my brakes would go squishy mid-session.

Image

Will swap in upgrades before I track it again. Turned 1:39s learning the track and 1:37s without pushing too hard knowing I wouldn't have brakes if I went any faster.

Yeah me.

Image

Brakes, camber plates and new race tires on Santa's list for me.

Ksports were OK.

I ran on medium settings and despite the coil height limitations, not major body roll.
