Looks great! Did you paint the rims or trade/buy new?

Painted by the dealership, though it's chipping pretty badly. Gonna repaint when I get some time.

I'm running the OTS map. Thinking about having Dan at MachV doing a protune.

How loud is it when the turbo spools? I just went stage 2 on my wrx with a torqued performance map and it is quite loud, wondering if something isn't quite tight enough or if it is normal.

Mine is fairly loud, but I'm running an intake which is very audible.

Personally I would get your car protuned somewhere other than mach v, not saying anything bad about dan, great guy awesome service. I've just heard people come out of there with sub par results when it comes to tuning. I know Phil up at element tuning is doing opensource now, i think he charges 600$ for the tune/dyno. This is who I'll be going through once I get all my goodies on my car :).

Dan is risk-averse and therefore conservative on tunes. Honestly, how close to the ragged edge do you want to be? The difference in performance of an extra 10whp won't matter for how 99.99% of us drive.

Jorge from P&L tuned my '08 STI and my results weren't anything to write home about (303/316) but then again, the motors on that vintage were known to be grenades. I had Fujitsubo exhaust, headers and UP, Cobb DP, AEM intake, TiC boost solenoid and a bunch of other stuff....results should have been much higher. It wasn't worth risking the motor....

Like PGT said, I'm leaning more towards a conservative tune for reliability issues. It seems like the choices on the Virginia side are Dan at MachV and PTuning(specialize in turbo TCs and S2000s).

If you have common components you could talk to Eric at Torqued Performance. Provides base maps tuned with similar to what you listed above, you log, he tweaks, done. $85. But if you want to give Dan some cash go nuts :)

Phil at Element is one of the few in the area I trust, but he is NOT cheap.

If you want to keep the ability to change maps, stay AP and get a Pro Tune. If you don't care about that, go OpenSource :)

The EBCS will help a LOT.
