The Audi Q3 crossover has yet to make to our shores, but Audi has unveiled the hot RS version, the 2014 RS Q3, which is the first ever RS Q model. The 2014 RS Q3 is going to debut next month at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show and will be powered by a 310-hp 2.5L five-cylinder turbo.

"The RS Q3 transfers the performance philosophy of Audi to the compact SUV segment, thereby creating a new performance class," says Franciscus van Meel, Managing Director of quattro GmbH. "In addition to the RS 5 Cabriolet, RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback, the RS Q3 is the fourth RS model that we are launching on the market in 2013."

The RS Q3 borrows its 2.5L five-cylinder engine from the TT RS and RS 3 Sportback. In the RS Q3 the turbocharged engine generates 310 horsepower and 310 lb-ft. of torque. The RS Q3 will reach 0-62 mph in 5.5 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. The five-cylinder engine is mated to a seven-speed S tronic transmission and the quattro permanent all-wheel drive system.

The 2014 RS Q3 stands out from the other Q3 models with body accents and roof rails in matte aluminum, special door sill plates and door trim strips, a high-gloss black honeycomb front grille, RS front bumper and a quattro emblem in the front air intake. A large roof spoiler, rear bumper with distinctive diffuser insert, large elliptical tailpipe and an RS Q3 logo accentuate the rear.

In Germany, the base price is €54,600, and deliveries begin in fall 2013.
For an RS model... I thought it would have more uumph. I'm guessing that is the same motor that is in the hot TT-RS. As funny as this is because I'm not in to aesthetics, I think it should have quad tailpipes...

I've always thought quad/dual tailpipes on something that only has one large pipe coming from the engine was silly. Even the third gen camaro I had.

I think lowered, tuned crossover utes are dumb. I know...I had one. A wagon > that abomination.

the q3 is really small. not a fan. can't imagine forking out for this over the avant models.

especially because the performance doesn't warrant the price tag

With you on price. 310 hp / 310 torque seems way underpowered for what they are charging. And doesn't make any sense since the TTRS has 360 hp & 343 torque and starts at $57,200 (not that you could find one for that price).
