Audi has taken the wraps off the the 2014 Audi S3 Sportback, which packs 300 horsepower and reaches 0-62 mph in five seconds.

As the high-performance version of the A3, the S3 Sportback is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged TFSI four-cylinder engine. It's four-cylinder engine generates 300 hp at 5,500 rpm and maximum torque of 280.27 lb-ft that is constantly available from 1,800 to 5,500 rpm. When equipped with the optional six-speed S tronic, the S3 Sportback sprints from 0 to 62 mph in only 5.0 seconds. The six-speed manual transmission needs just five-tenths of a second more. Top speed is electronically governed at 155 mph.

The S3 also rides on an S sport suspension, which lowers the body by an inch. The new S3 Sportback also comes standard with Audi drive select. The Audi drive select system handles characteristics of the electronic gas pedal, shift points of the optional S tronic and the steering ratio for progressive steering. At the push of a button, the driver specifies whether these systems should operate in comfort, auto, dynamic or efficiency mode.
That's a nice torque curve... makes me wonder if you pushed it what it would be capable of!

Sadly, TT-S. It's the four, not the five :(

Ooooh very nice! I like the A3 but it seems a bit underpowered... The S3 is a welcome remedy, though likely will be priced beyond my reach :|

I remember in Japan, all of the A3s I saw were three-door. They looked pretty sharp. It would be nice to see Audi bring that option over here.
