vendor suggestion - engine swap

Post by ElZorro »

Any thoughts on a shop that I can trust for an engine swap? Ideally a short tow from the Tyson's area.

TIA!

Are you planning on keeping the FXT long-term or are you still thinking of fixing and selling?

TBD. I've got a lead on essentially new long blocks through Gruppe S. At that point it'll be like a new car (turbo only has 50k on it, radiator only has 15k on it, etc). I need to sit down and do some math on what the FXT will cost me in the long term even after this repair.

You are better off keeping it. Do it right and do it once. Your turbo and radiator are fine. So did you blow your block or something?

I would suggest getting or going through a local shop to get the engine. That way they deal w/ something that doesn't go right, not you dealing w/ the drama.
