Computer Programming 101: Intro and some Python

Post by Sabre »

Hello all,
As some of you know, I host nights at my place where I talk about various topics, ranging from Reverse engineering to installing Linux. This time around I'm going to be introducing computer programming (the basics) and then diving into Python code to put some meaning behind the basics.

When: Undecided!
Where: 8343 Moline Pl. Springfield, VA 22153
Who this is for: Someone who has never programmed before.
Why do I want this: If you've been looking for a program to do Y, you will now be able to write it!
No, really why: This could potentially help your career and make your life easier at work.

I'll supply the basics: Cups, plates etc., you just need to show up and maybe bring a notepad/laptop.

Let me know if you are coming so I know how many to expect!

ESRI uses Python scripts. If I'm in town, I'll show some support.

I want to do this, really I do. But depending on what night it ends up being on will determine my attendance. But don't worry about planning around me. I've got got too much learning going on as is.

+1 for python. I've been playing with it, since the majority of the tools I use in backtrack are written in py. Good stuff.

yes, yes they are. 8)

it's almost scary how easy they've made things with 4. The project has come a long way.
