Stuff to be on the lookout for the new WRX

Post by drwrx »

Yes, the rumors are true, I purchased an auto WRX as a daily driver.
And yes, I have already begun to accumulate some parts to go on. Actually, just a set of steel brake lines so far.
The following is a list of parts that I'm looking for on the cheap. If you know of any (or have some yourself), let me know.
1. Shorty downpipe: (Stromung, Bosal, Oakos, Daddy's, etc. A new Stromung is $190 so you can see where my price break would be.
2. Up-pipe: Love to find an STi or an 06 or later WRX catless, or a bosal. Something stock looking.
3. Silicone Intercooler Y-Pipe (new are around $75)
4. Springs: Nothing too low or harsh, Eibach sport, Tein H-Tech, STi Pinks etc. (04-05 WRX sedan)
5. maybe an STi-axle-back if it's cheap. I'm trying to keep this one nice and quiet.

Yep, that's all. No turbos, no fuel injectors, no big intercoolers, no 3" TBEs, no intakes, no headers, no big brake kits.
This one is going to be as simple as possible.

And yes a tune, once the exhaust pieces and Y-pipe are on.

Looks like #2 (up-pipe) and #4 (springs) are covered.

I have a prodrive blue silicon Ypipe if you want it...it is for the stock TMIC.

I also have a leftover K&N panel filter that I am not using if that works in your car (works in the FXT and WRX STi).

I would love the Y-pipe. We'll talk.
I also have 2 left over high-flow panel filters from years back.

Good seeing you and the new ride. Enjoy the new bits.

Maybe I can make it out to a meet and have a couple people take the foz out for a ride to diagnose the suspension dealio...that is a maybe, though...so far away.....

Thanks again for the bits. I am already making use of one of them.
I decided to pull the air filter on the car and I was surprised to find it was a K&N and as dirty and black as the heart of Satan! I have never seen a filter this filthy in my life!
I have two other filters (Purolator and K&N) in my basement or attic or shed somewhere, but decided that proximity was the better choice. So the STi filter went in immediately.

The Y-pipe is an easy swap but glad you could use one of them right away. That reminds me that I need to clean my filter and pre-filter.
