It doesn't stick out much more than the drain plug (maybe .25"). I've had mine of for awhile too and have had no problems. Makes changing the oil a MUCH more pleasant thing.

mm i have an oil change coming up. i might messing around with this idea as well.

the nipple. i assume that all drain valves are universal for subaru? when i clicked subaru, there was no specific wrx/sti/forester one.
