I know it will need more power, but this is a fantastic canvas for some aftermarket tweaking.

I like. Very true to roadster-ish cues from S2k, Z4/3, Miata, etc.. I really wish it had more of the current feel of the Mazda 3/6 and CX 5 cues. The 3 is down right yermmy. Reminds me of a shrunk down Ferrari FF.

Holy crap those guys are going on and on like this is the most newsworthy thing to happen since the last time the new model updated.

I gotta say, that is one PRETTY damn car. I would LOVE it is the weight came in around that 2200 figure. Think they could get the BRZ down that far? To be fair, the BRZ has a back seat... but still! The direct injection gives me high hopes of pushing more than stock power out of it using forced injection!

I hope there's some head space on the fuel system for FI. I'm sad that Flyin Miata only sold superchargers for the last gen. I want a turbo and I want it from an established name that I can trust!

I wish Mazda would follow up with the rest of the specs (engine, weight in NA spec, color availability, cost). I'm ready to trade!

People are all excited about the new [gigantor] iPhone and all I can think about is the new Miata.

Really stupid, but I wish it had exit pipes on both sides, not two on one.... as I said, damn picky and easily fixable!

2016 Mazda MX-5 curb weight: 2,332 pounds and with a 2.0-liter SkyActiv four, which makes 155 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque, it should be fun :)

A local Yahoo Autos editor had the opportunity to spend 48 hours with an ND last week and invited the local Mazda club to come out and see if on Wednesday evening. Suffice to say, I jumped at the opportunity and I really like the way it looks in person.

I also managed to get a ride around the block in it before the rides ended. :D

It was Arctic White and it looked very good with the black contrasts. I still want to drive one, but based on my experience so far, Mazda did very well with this latest version of the Miata.

Here's some crappy photos I took with my phone: https://plus.google.com/photos/10151984 ... hofbp66Heg

Here are some good photos as taken by someone else that evening: http://imgur.com/a/3k2pe#0

And for those who are available, Mazda Corporate is bringing an ND to Arlington Rosenthal on June 21 from 11-3pm.

ND Miata spotted in the wild and it looks fantastic!

It was white and had Heidelberg plates. Not sure what it's doing knocking around Wiesbaden??? I didn't think they were on sale yet, and I am not aware of any Mazda corporate presence in Heidelberg.

My one issue is that the base trim gets the cloth interior and removes the "tacked on" screen (double score!) but you can't get the LSD (huge downer).

I also find it a little humorous that so many articles are talking about the aggressive weight saving measures that Mazda used, yet they still found space in the weight budget for a sound symposer.

The lack of the LSD is a deal breaker.

lol, maybe the sound symposer is made out of Gen2titanium and weights nothing  Agreed

You have to move up a trim level to get the LSD, but then you get the screen in the dash (even without navi, it's the radio controls) and leather interior. Not a deal breaker but also not the exact config that I would wish for.

The sound tube is black plastic and there's at least 1 "box" in the pathway. Looks to be a few grams that I'd lose on the first day of ownership. ;-)

Sport is the base, Club gets LSD and better suspension with red stitched cloth interior. GT gets leather interior and nav. My big issue now is the color selection and in particular, the colors available in Club:

Wow, no British Racing Green :(

I really do like it in red though.

No BRG? FAIL!

Does the Club has black with red stitching no mater what color exterior you get? I just want plain black. And no screen slapped on the dash.

The one I saw was a "soft" white and looked great. Not the color I want, but it looked great.

I strongly suspect that someone up the hill from our place works at Mazda European Research & Development Centre.
I think it is "Ceramic Metallic." Looks great in person. Can't believe how small it is, and I'm used to driving an NB. Still hate the screen on the dash but what can you do? I hope I can afford one by the time they add some more colors.

After sitting in an ND yesterday, I'm a little worried about the seats. They pinched me on the upper thigh. Not the waste line or the hips, but the thigh. I didn't have much time to sit in it (there was a line after me) but I couldn't find any adjustment for the bolsters on the bottom seat surface.

The pedals are PERFECT for heal/toe work. Just amazingly perfect. So perfect that I now wonder why they aren't all this good.

They had some parts on display as well. A Bastuck exhaust,a very pimp looking CF engine bay brace, and silver covers for the mirrors, roll hoops and windshield frame.

Side Note: are there any Miata fans in the group that can read German?
