I hope we aren't seeing the 1970s all over again. Imagine living in the glory days of automotive-dom only to face down the emissions era followed by the malaise era. It was decades before the world got cool cars again.

Is the golden age ending?

EDIT
Matt Hardigree — Mitsubishi isn't denying Evo dead after 2013An offhand comment from Mitsubishi's global product director that "we must stop" making the Evo after the Lancer Evolution X had Subaru fanboys cheering and everyone else worried. But is it true?
If you're a Subaru fan and you're cheering that the Evo is dead, you're a :censor: idiot.

When you get a trophy in one of the best racing video games of all time for racing your car against your rivals car the rivalry has reached epic and historic proportions, and neither side wins by seeing it go away.

Ya, the drive to keeping making a better machine will disappear quick when it's the only one around. I for one, am not cheering at all.

There goes my only reason to look at Mitsubishi with anticipation.

Oh well.
If I was in the market for 'that kind of car', I'd probably be looking at re-buying a 9 anyways.
