Evo Minishoot

Post by gsx-lex »

So Mrs Gsx-lex made me drive to Lynchburg, Va. I dread driving anywhere in Va because of my tinted windows, but I must admit, I had a great time on the open road. Somewhere between Charlotte and Lynchburg, there is a 20 mile mountainous road with no shoulder (ie no speedtraps) so I opened her up with the new GSC cams (haven't had a chance to do that yet).

Here is a sampler, more can be found HERE:

Thanks. I've done several photoshoots with the stubby wing, and this is the first one, where I captured the wing, the way I wanted too.

Very clean looking spoiler, the car's overall look is very clean too. Kind of an EVO sleeper style.

No dyno numbers yet. The sad part is that I won't be able to dyno tune it until after my first Autox event (see my post in the autox section). For now, I'm stuck using the butt dyno, and rt 32 as my highway tuning pad (seriously, I should start looking for a local shop that needs a parttime tuner).

The setup is relatively simple:
Full Thermocoated Turboback exhaust
AEM TruBoost EBC
Forge Adjustable WG actuator
APS BOV
GSC S1 cams
various aftermarket sensors for tuning
ECU Flash (duh)

After the red car, I wanted to try my luck at actually turning when I race. No AEM standalone, big turbo, built motor, etc. I want this be a true daily driven weekend warrior.

I think you'll find this to be quite rewarding... Show up, change tires, bleed brakes, kick ass. Finish up, change tires, bleed brakes, drive home.

It's good fun for sure. 8)

I wish I could afford a separate track car...I could let off my weekly life aggression on the track. Your ride looks great and it sounds like a winner. :D

Fixor'd...don't weekend warriors use separate pads for track/autoX or am I wrong?

It totally depends on the mods allowed in your class.

I don't think too many folks are running their cars hard enough in a ~60 second course to cook the pads...

But I've been wrong before!

Probably not in the 3-5 runs you get at an autox event. As you say, lines, fluid and pads should be plenty. :) In the autox class I saw a big improvement in break fade with just lines and fluid.
