Rear wing replace

Post by darwin »

The carbon fiber on the rear wing of my '04 Evo is oxidized. The good news is on Thursday Mitsubishi agreed to replace it with a new one at no cost to me (the part costs $1,800 plus paint and install labor). I had heard they weren't particularly excited about fixing these problems, so I am excited to get it resolved with only three visits to the dealer and meeting with the District Rep.

Congrats, I wish all dealer experiences were this easy.

Three visits?!? Ouch. That's gotta be frustrating. Glad to hear it's getting worked out though.

Glad to hear you're getting a replacement! Dealerships can be difficult to work with unfortunately :(

The new wing was installed today. It looks good. The carbon fiber weave is more course than the previous one and not a yellow…

Did you get the VIII wing or the IX wing?

I looked into getting mine replaced (it's delaminating) but decided not to get it done. They wanted to replace it with a IX wing.

So, relaminating my wing is on my "to-do" list....which is burried under my "honey-do" books.
