Hate to be a killjoy but you get what you pay for. Be very wary of a $4000 WRX...

Thanks for all the input. I would've had the car compression tested, leak down tested, and a general PPI. The owner had the service history with receipts for all the major services. oh well.. the search continues.

I'm not in a rush since my S4 hasn't sold yet.

someone on NASIOC bought the white wagon from Woodbridge public auto auction for under $3,000

I hope they post the issues and progress on the build.

If that's the same one I saw, the previous owner threw a rod so he's gonna replace the engine.

So I found another one.. in Baltimore.

Any shops up there that specialize in Subaru? I'd like to get a compression test and PPI done.

Only one I can think of off the top is http://www.iagperformance.com/ . They are in Westminster, north of Bmore close to the Penn state line.

Looks like a good car and a good price. I'd like to see a carfax, engine shot, service records(timing belt, spark plugs, all fluids replaced) and a compression test. Good Luck.

Pretty great price really. Worth looking further into I'd say.
