The instructions I had were for a Forester. Most everything was backwards and then trying to feed the wires through the hole in the floor board really kicked my ass. I really just don't like wiring at all.

Ah yeah I guess it was somewhat of a pain. In that sense, if anyone else wants help I'd be more than happy to assist. After doing mine and midnit's I'm a pro ;)

Dale im still waiting on my DP to ship. How much do you want for it?

Since I would rcommend you get an alighnment after the spring install I would say just take it to P-Tuning and have them install the springs, as well as the camber bolts, and then have them alighn it as well. It won't be super cheap, but I'm never getting an alighnment from any other place.

I've typically waited a week or so to have an alignment done. Hasn't seemed to be much of an issue with tire wear. I'd at least give it a few days.

Well it turns out that my DP is still in a shipping container waiting to arrive to their warehouse so they can ship it. So im pretty sure im gonna cancel the order.

OK I need some help. Im looking for a catted downpipe now. Are there any budget ones out there?

There's a guy in Arlington with an Invidia catted new in box asking for offers:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthr ... ?t=1409514

You can pick-up a Helix catted down-pipe for $329 here:
http://www.hopupracing.com/hehicado2ce0.html

Those would be my first choices.

You can get a regular ebay type down-pipe ($120 shipped)
Than buy a high flow 3" metal substrate cat ($114.95)
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetai ... toview=sku
Then have it welded into the pipe for another $100+ installation.

Thanks Darren for your help. I PMed the guy on Nasioc. I also found a deal for a Titek( reviews are much better than Helix) catted downpipe for $360 shipped.

Well its seems the Titek DP is discontinued and sold out from all of its distributors. This is really starting to drive me crazy.

Is anyone running a Helix downpipe?

Darren what do you think about them?

The Helix down-pipe is a fine looking piece. I think if you took the name plate off it and held it up to the Invidia you would not be able to tell them apart. The only Helix down-pipe I saw was a catted one and the welds looked very good, the bends were smooth and the flanges and tubing were thick. That's about all you can ask for. In the end, it's just stainless steel pipe. There is no "magic" that makes one better than another. Yes some types of stainless are "better" than others, but unless you know the type from each manufacturer that is not likely a claim that can be verified.

Hooray for me!!!!
I finally got a damn downpipe. I did a pricematch over w/ JSC Speed since they seem to do good service and I got an Invidia bellmouth downpipe for $225 shipped. Came in yesterday and am very pleased.

Alright so now who is gonna help with the install. I have access to a lift and have cash for pizza and beer.

Darren do you think I could get a shop to weld in a 3 inch high flow cat onto the intermediate pipe of my HKS exhaust?

by drwrx
Yes, that is what I had done. They will have to install the down-pipe to do it properly. Mine cost $120 to have done.

Here's the cat I'd recommend getting:
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/s ... _411601_-1

It's $97.99. You may be able to find it cheaper if you hunt.

I had it done at a midas down the way from me.
Any muffler shop can do this kind of work.

As far as the springs go, Belvoir's auto shop has a spring compressor and that's where I did my springs. The guys there do know their stuff too. Just my 2 cents.

I'm having P Tuning install the springs on Thursday. Then 10 days later they will do the alignmentNow just to find some help and hopefully do the downpipe this weekend.
