Topping off the fuel tank

Found this while surfing F-Book. Subaru had posted it so I thought that I would share but sorry if its already on here somewhere...

I was guilty of it. Until I realized how the evap system worked. Basically if you top off, you are firing gas into your evap canister. There by rendering it just about useless and possibly screwing yourself with evap codes.

i don't think i've ever topped off. not a big deal to me since i never buy gas w/ cash.

I usually do round up to the next $.05. That way when I look at my statement, I know if it's a charge I did or if it was someone else.

0% in the last 4 years.... Pretty shocking, but I guess not really when I think about it: It's mainly my "gas" card, pretty much nothing else goes on it.
