Karting @ Summit Point - 9/18

Post by Mr Kleen »

Saturday, September 18 we are getting a group together to go karting at Summit Point!
Karting details can be found at the official site: http://www.summitpointkart.com/

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAUwHuTu ... r_embedded[/video]

If we can get together 15 or more people we will be able to get group pricing. Once we get close to that number I'll contact Summit Point for further details.
Worse case scenario we'll pay the normal $25 per session and run two or three sessions as people wish.

If you haven't been to Summit Point this is a great way to have some fun at the kart track and get introduced to the closest road course to metro DC. I believe there is also a Porsche Club event that weekend and spectators are always welcome. It's an approximately 90 minute drive from DC.

Right now we are planning on getting there at 11:30ish Saturday morning.

So, who's coming with me?

Make me a tentative +1 at least. I know the Mrs would enjoy this, as would a few of my friends from outside the club. I've got some emails to send out now. 8)

I'm near 8th & I SE. I'm sure several people will want to ride share so we'll work that out as the date approaches.

Well, I can't be there physically, but I'll be there in spirit while I drive this. Not quite a cart, but close.

I have a couple friends from work who have expressed a lot of interest in coming. At least one of them is a definite.

There has also been talk of camping out at Summit Point on Saturday night. Those that do, remember that you'll be camping on the infield of a race track that has events planned for Sunday so don't plan on sleeping too late unless you can sleep through race car noise at dawn.

Someone asked about inviting people along for the karting. Invite away, just be sure to post if you get a 100% commitment so I can add them to the list.

From what time to what time will this be?

I have a get together sat evening, but if this is like, noonish for a few hours, I could give it a shot.

karting starts at noon. since we have a large group but aren't actually doing a "group event" we will need to be there by 11:30 or so.
informally it sounds like most people are planning on doing 2 sessions. several people are camping, weather permitting.

Would it be fine if I can get a ride out and back? Other than that I would be all set to go.
