DCAWD Event - Busch Gardens - 10/27/07

Post by Sabre »

Hello all,
Gather around, DCAWD is having a meet at Busch Gardens! Why wait till the end of the summer to do this? Howl-O-Scream! If you have never been to Busch Gardens during this, it puts most places to shame. Everything is decorated perfectly and a lot of the rides are modified to fit the theme. Oh, and did I mention the park was open till 10pm?

We'll be meeting at approximately 7am at the Hard Times/Vinny's in Springfield, then driving down to Busch Gardens together. Hard Times/Vinny's is located at:
6362 Springfield Plaza
Springfield, Virginia 22150
(703) 913-5600

If you are in the Richmond/HR area, come out to meet up with us when we get down there!

New this year is the Griffon!
Set amid a French village, Griffon carries riders up 205 feet, then hurtles them 90 degrees straight down at 70 mph. And that’s just the beginning.
Anyone is more than welcome to attend. The price per ticket is $47 for adults (as long as we get 15 people, which isn't a problem usually). This may go down depending on the number of people that will be coming. Payment is by cash the day we go down there. I will take checks a week prior to the trip. IM me for who to make check payable to and the address to send them.

Most up to date information found in our forum here.

Let me know if you are coming so that we can try to keep an accurate count.

Good choice putting $4,000 rims on your 1990 Honda Civic. That's like Betty White going out and getting her tits done.

Yep, still have it ;)

Far as in 2 hours, but well worth it. If you've been to Kings Dominion... this place is MUCH nicer.

Many thanks to Jason for mentioning this in my announcement thread otherwise it would have gotten right by me! Steph and I are in - I mean, BG is all of 45 minutes from where we live now!!

Steph's currently nursing an aggravated knee injury but we are going to find a way to get there....it'll be great to see everyone!

My car is full, but I'm sure someone else can! I'll be staying down (visiting my sister), but I think most are driving back that night.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news here folks but Saturday is really starting to look like a wash down here weather wise. The week started at 40% chance of showers and we're now up to a 70% chance of rain and full-on thunderstorms that day. Given the cost of gas for you all making the drive and the cost of admission to the park I would hate for everyone to put this much effort and money into things only to have the park shut down for a storm or to spend the day in a soggy park.

I suggest taking a look at the weather situation and re-thinking this..........

Bad part is, since it's the end of the season, we really can't schedule a "rain date" :( I'm hoping thing improve in the next day or two... Just means there will be less people there!
