Good choice putting $4,000 rims on your 1990 Honda Civic. That's like Betty White going out and getting her tits done.

Not if you plan on just driving in a straight line.

picked up the RX7 wheel today and the tires it came with are almost new. they are Goodyear Eagle II's A/S (225/50/16/)

I will run these and see how they go since they are mounted and balanced already.

The reviews are right, these Goodyear Eagle II's are awful :puke:

I can light them up on demand. They are hard as a tricycle tire. With the wheels being almost 12lbs lighter at each corner acceleration seems smoother and torque steer has increased even in the higher gears. The wheels sit pretty flush. I like the look better than the over-sized and over-weight 18x7's (25lbs)

Time to find another set of 16's to mount these winter tires and summers for the RX7 wheels.

You might be better off finding a set of light 17"s for your summer wheels.
There are plenty of 17 x 7.5 wheels at 17lbs or lighter.
The 16"s are going to give you some serious sidewall height to overcome.
Sidewall flex on a FWD car under heavy weight transistion is a very disconcerting thing.

Love these wheels so much, I picked up a 2nd set last night. Now I have a dedicated set for summer and winter. Great news is the 2nd set cost me only $125 and are the reinforced ones (14lbs) Time to shop for summer tires :nana:

choices for sizes are:
225/45/16 (about 1.5 inch smaller diameter and same side wall) def need to lower the car
225/50/16 (about 0.5 inch smaller diameter and 0.5 larger side wall)

Tire choices:
Yokohama S.drive (Ultra High Performance Summer) = $87
Continental ExtremeContact DW (Max Performance Summer) = $99
Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport (Ultra High Performance Summer) = $110
BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 (Ultra High Performance Summer) = $113

The 225/50-16 S.drives for $87 are certainly the best buy of the group.
It is sad that there are no better (more) options available in the 225/45-16.
If you want to jump up you could go to a 245/45R16 Fuzion ZRi for $107.00 (each)
They say they fit rim widths of 7.5-9"

on a side note: I'm not dissing your team or anything but I'd remove that huge sticker blocking the rear window. plenty of real estate on the side windows....

actually, the sticker is on of those ones that allows you to see through it. The other cool thing is it peels off and can be used again and again.
