RallyX school 2013

Post by Sabre » Mon Feb 25, 2013 12:03 pm

Hey all,
Looks like, for some reason, they want Alvin and I to teach the RallyX school again ;) We'll be going for rides through the instruction with the students in their cars to show them these techniques.

Basics review:
RallyX classes
Hand-positioning
Reading the surface
Judging distance to objects
Braking: ABS, threshold braking
Correct “Rally Lines”
Understeer/Oversteer – How to induce/recover
Handbrake Turns – Enter hairpin

Advanced:
Correct Lines for various situations
Left foot braking
Lift-off oversteer
Powerslide
Scandanavian Flick
Recovery from bad situations
Going for a ride with an experienced rallycrosser

It's a great time, I hope some of you can make it out!!!

<begin announcer voice>

And now, a message from our sponsors!
Basics review:
RallyX classes - They happen at Summit Point! Heck yeah!
Hand-positioning - you put your left hand on the wheel, and then your right hand! Heck yeah!
Reading the surface - These are the tires that grip the dirt that grip the road that...you're sliding off of... Heck yeah!
Judging distance to objects - We play a game of See that tree? Avoid that tree!
Braking: ABS, threshold braking - mash brake...you slide! no mash brake...no slide!
Correct “Rally Lines” - we teach you to drop that top, hang the arse end out while yelling "hey mami" to innocent bystanders! heck yeah!
Understeer/Oversteer – How to induce/recover - FWD understeer got you down? we teach you how to put the car up on craigslist and sell it for an awd/rwd car :)
Handbrake Turns – You pull the ebrake. You develop a grin on your face directly proportional to how sideways you are :DDD!

Advanced:
...
Recovery from bad situations - like a bad reality tv show, our panel talks about life after rehab...oh wait, we're teaching RALLYX?!!!...Heck yeah!
...
</end announcer voice>

ok, i really need to get some sleep :nana:

I followed an E30 eastbound on the Dulles Greenway Saturday afternoon. It was lifted and had SCCA Rally on the rear window and was DIRTY.

Good catching up with you too Alvin! No worries on Sunday, we know you wanted to get North before the snow hit us, lol.

PGT: lol, that's the Dirty E30 Crew. They roll deep and are always good for a laugh :)

Yep, just got some mud in the bead - Firestone fixed it up quick.

Shared some pix with you and J through G+.

Yea, sorry I bailed so quick, tire was dropping quick. Definitely good to see you man!
