Well this event has come full circle for us. Last year I went to check out the hyperfest. Got volunteered to help run the rallysprint. Ended up talking to Anders Greene, one of the directors of NASA RallySport. 4 months later we're at International Rally New York in a NASA Stock Heavy Evo 9.

It took some convincing, but I managed to get the rest of the black box crew to haul the rally car down here, so this year, we're actually going to be part of the rallysprint!... well, insofar as we finish putting the front subframe back on.

Anyways, wanted to extend the invitation to all the DCAWD folks. There's ridealongs on Saturday - come over, check out the car, we're going to be there giving rally rides for as long as possible!

Thanks Sabre.

The RallySprint was a close battle with Charlie and Jeannie Sherrill in the Evo4. Each stage consisted of 3 laps on the Bolivian rally circuit which took about 7 minutes to run. We were trading positions at the end of each stage. At the end of stage 3, we were just 10 seconds ahead. Charlie and Jeanie fought back, and managed to best us by 2 seconds on our second to last run. We knew we had to go for it on our our last run. Amber and I buckled down in the evo and pushed hard; ended up jumping things that weren't meant to be jumped, drifting corners at the very edge, and flat footing it through some massive ruts (I think we grabbed 4th in one section where we had previously just topped out third). All in all we took a quarter of a minute off our best time to take the overall win!
