I still have mine. SCCA just never gave me a warm fuzzy and I heard the horror stories about Subaru voiding warranties after people used the free membership. of course now my warranty is loooong gone.

It's kinda funny about the Subaru warranties. I've bought two new Subys now in as many years... and the warranty has expired BOTH times within just a few months of ownership. Has anyone else noticed this problem? They should stop building defective warranties and fix the current ones. :rolllaugh:

DC is not a fan of the National office, but I like the local clubs just fine.
Of course, Shawn and I are now members of the Solo II committee. :D

The season has begun. :) Shawn and I took 5th and 1st places in our classes on Sunday at the DC event and we're heading to Aberdeen on Saturday to participate in the Philly series. Anyone else thinking about going? It's a lot of fun and you shouldn't have any problems registering.

After 1 and before 3 probably. I can't guess much better than that, Shawn and I are running in separate heats and they tend to be 1 hr. per heat.

Just got back from my first 2 National events. National events take place on a larger scale than most local events, minus WDCR. You arrive on Friday, check in at registration and tech your car, and try and get in a couple of course walks. You also typically get dinner on Fri. and lunch on Sat. tossed in as part of the registration fee. Sat. and Sun. you compete, and after your runs each day, you have to leave your car in impound in case anyone wants to protest your results. At the end of the day on Sun., trophies are handed out and you head home.

We went out to Peru, IN last weekend to compete in a ProSolo, which neither of us had done before. The concept is as follows: Sat. morning, 2 cars line up drag style, w/ the Christmas tree timer, light goes green, you launch and record rection time and 60' times, then you autox as normal on mirror course. You flip sides and repeat this 3 more times for a total of 2 runs on each side. Then Sat. afternoon, the scores are reviewed and you move forward or backward in your class according to how your morning was. And you repeat this again for Sunday. On Sunday, your best right side and left side times are added together to determine your placing. It was fun to try a new form of autox, and it did take a bit of adapting for me. I need to work on my reaction time a lot and handling manual starts better. It is a lot faster that normal autox and that is kind of cool.

Then this weekend, we went up to Boston for a National Tour event. This is very similar in size to a normal DC event, however the procedures are a bit different. All of the cones on the course are numbered and you keep an audit sheet during the heat of which cars hit which cones. 4 times during each heat, a sweep vehicle comes out to collect these sheets. At the end of the event, your best time from Sat. and Sun. are added together to determine your placing.

The tour reminded me of DC events + a few more hassles. The biggest pluses of it are you get to compete against a slightly wide ranger of competitors and there is potential money to be won. :) I'd like to try the ProSolo format again sometime in the future.

Oh, yeah and the CN are Shawn got 2nd at the ProSolo, 1st at the Tour and I got 12th at the Pro and 1st the Tour.

Congrats on the wins! Great write up! I always wondered how our events differed from other regions!
