2005 2.5RS - $6500 - SOLD

Post by Cereb Daithi »

Well she is back up for sale and for good this time. Selling my 2005 2.5RS. Need to make room for some other cars and raise some funds so sadly it has to go.

I bought the car new in late 2004. It's the "sport model" so comes with the WRX extras. CAR HAS 4EAT TRANSMISSION (automatic).

Here is some info:

Chassis Mileage: 119,xxx (daily driven so subject to change)
Engine Mileage: 87,xxx (rough estimate. Replaced old engine with lower mileage 2005 engine)

Included:
Subaru 6-disc CD changer
MOMO leather wrapped steering wheel
MOMO leather shift knob
Center console armrest exension
Leather wrapped e-brake handle
MY05 WRX seats
WRX sideskirts
WRX rear spoiler
STi foglight covers (no STi badging)
Hella Supertones
Aluminum hood
Aqua reverse intake (can be swapped with WRX scoop at buyers request)
eBay UEL Header (stock header should be included as well)
Stromung twin-tip catback

It will come with Legacy GT wheels and a set of all-seasons I had extra

Car runs well and transmission shows no problems. It has received regular service since the engine replacement. I had the transmission fluid changed by Subaru around 100k miles. As I'm sure you're curious as to why the was replaced, I rather stupidly ran the car low on oil and spun a rod bearing. Instead of tearing it down and rebuilding I happened across an engine from he same year car with less mileage for a good price and jumped on it to speed up repair time. It's run flawlessly since I put it in. I used to work for a dealership so all services, oil changes, and other various things were performed by Subaru techs.

Cosmetically it has some flaws such as a dent in the passenger side front fender from someone's car door and a dent in the trunk from a pickup backing into it. Both dents are not catastrophically bad but worth noting nonetheless. Those are the two big ones and there are just various smaller scratches and dents normally seen on a daily driven car.

Just a few last things. Car was a non-smoking non-pet-owner vehicle. It currently has a few decals on the rear windows and on the hood for back when I was working SEMA 2007 and we had a tribute to Colin McRae. These can be removed at buyer's request. The last and only other thing is the car currently has a CEL from the o2 sensor due to it disagreeing with the aftermarket header. It's a fixable problem but I just have never been bothered enough to take the time.

Car is currently located outside Pittsburgh, PA. PM me if interested in discussing further.

Also slightly older pics but apart from the window decal being removed, identical to the car as it sits.

Sorry I thought I had the price in the post. I'm asking $7500 on most forums. For DCAWD I'd knock it down to $6950 if anyone is interested soon.

I don't recall the 2004 STi being offered in San Remo Red. Am I mistaken or has this car been painted?
If you ever think of adding a wing, let me know, I will gladly take that wingless trunklid off your hands.

You are correct. The body is actually a 2004 WRX. The previous owner swapped everything from an STi in. Literally everything. Engine, transmission, headlights, interior, transmission, brakes, steering, suspension, intercooler spray, etc etc etc. It's an almost bone stock 2004 STi in every way except for the VIN plate and non-STi color. It spent the last few years in the possession of my good friend. It only has 20k miles on the body and 30k on the drivetrain. Why the original owner didn't just buy an STi and paint it red is beyond me but oh well.

This one has some interesting pieces. My friend who owned it previously is a carbon-fiber fabricator and he fabbed up his own air intake for it years ago. It turned out extremely well.

Not the prettiest but he wasn't going for looks. His work is superb and he has done some very cool projects. If any of you remember that longtube header 350z that was big on the internet a while back, he designed the plenum for that that managed to outperform the cosworth manifold. His current project is using an old 2.5L SOHC engine of mine running an 02 WRX ecu in his GC wagon. It's currently putting down around stock WRX power NA for around $1000.

You can check out some of his stuff at Carbotron

Overall the car is great, it's low mileage, and it only costs WRX insurance. All in all a general success. I need to put an aftermarket exhaust back on but once I do I can re-flash his tune he had on it. He even tuned the AVCS and the car is an absolute mid-range kidney puncher and probably one of the fastest stock-turbo pump gas STi's I've ever come across.

He makes some very cool stuff. What kind of stuff in particular were you looking for, Julian? I'll be over his place tomorrow most likely and I can bring it up in conversation.

Just remember that, in the event of a claim, if it costs WRX insurance then they will pay out WRX values.
