Data Logging & GPS

Post by gsx-lex »

I've been working on a project for quite some time in the Evo community, and I wanted to get a handle of interest with the Subaru crowd. Basically, we are working on developing a logging device that is GPS enabled and logs a bunch of stuff VIA OBDII on the stock Ecu. It is still in development so I can't give away some other big features of it, but I can tell you that you won't have to keep your laptop in the car ;).

I wanted to get a feel for the demand of a product like this for the Subaru community. The Evo community is very interested in this, as we do a lot of stock ECU flashing, but I can see something like this being very beneficial to the Subaru AutoX crowd who doesn't necessarily "flash" their ECUs but would like a way to log an AutoX run.

Thanks
Alex

Question: Will it have the ability to log from external sensors?

I ask because the stock O2 sensor is a narrowband. Most Suby folks have to use an external wideband.

That would go a long way towards making it a logging tool worth owning/using.

Yes it will/can receive a 5V aux signal from a wideband. Keep em coming!

What will be the sampling rate for the OBDII/external channels and the GPS?

We are still testing different sampling rates and such with different hardware.

If you need any help, let me know. :) I've done a fair amount of embedded software development, some including GPS and sensor reading.

Cool, like CarChip or an even better version of EvoScan.

I love it.

Thanks for the offer. We will need couple of beta testers once we get working prototype.
