What is more exciting than the US President...

Post by sirwilliam »

...being in the same complex I work at?

2008 FSXT MT AP Firmware is out! YEAH! Sorry AT guys, no firmware for you. :( Stage 1, here I come! :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana:

...just have to order up my AP next week.

I am going to do a power increase analysis on the dyno for stock and stage 1...then I will install my exhaust and dyno stage 2....then I will install all my bits w/ 18G and dyno that...but that will come later.

I am sure everything is pretty rough since Christian just released it but I will make sure I log the A/F and of course there will be updated maps.

HAPPY DAYS FOR ME>>>NO MORE STOCK POWER!

From what I have seen from other '08 stock power dyno graphs, the factory numbers are a little off...from calculating, the stock numbers are closer to 230hp/250 torque vs. the stated numbers of 224/226 on the subaru website.

Can't wait to plug and play! :D

Jackie is having it shipped from, IIRC, JSCspeed in PA (who had it in stock). There is a tracking number that shows it arriving at Annapolis Subaru this afternoon. And I have done A LOT of business w/ Jackie so when she says next day, it will come next day.

If I would have bought it straight from COBB it might have been a month before I see it.

Thanks. Right now I am only going to run stage 1 OTS map. A couple people are already running stage 2 and are hitting boost cut. Christian from Cobb is working on a calibration update for stage 2 so I will wait until that is released to run stage 2. Then a little bit further down the road I will protune my 18G. Getting excited for tomorrow for stage 1 (anything is better than stock  ).

Here is a dyno comparison of a FLI protuned stage 2 2007 XT vs. COBB OTS stage 2 2007 XT:

Image

There is a crazy dip on the OTS tune. Mods are catless COBB TBE and K&N panel filter on CA 91Oct.

Here is a stock 2007 XT dyno run:

Well, there was a slight delay in the arrival of my AP but all is good...after good ol' suby bux, it came in under $200 for the new AP  It arrived Friday but didn't get it installed until I got back to VA last night.

I will have to say that the AP V.2 is MUCH nicer than my old AP V.1 plus I don't have to bend over backwards to get to the stupid green plugs to flash the ECU...and it is much, much faster...USB...yada, yada, yada. :D

Initial impressions are good! Good pedal feel and good solid accel throughout. I haven't gotten heavy stop-n-go traffic experience but should get that today on the way home.

STOCK POWER...BYE, BYE! 8)

I did find a nice unwelcome nail sticking out of my driverside rear Blizzaks :( ...but I think I might have lucked out and it only stuck in my chunky tread on top. I will still keep an eye on it, though.
