I can return the cable to you at the next meet.
I don't understand the boost functionality with the swapped ECU. Even with Darrin's stand alone super smart boost controller targeted for 18, I still only see ~5.

Darrin's cable won't work since he has a 2011 :( I sent my cable (Tactrix 2.0) off to Colin so he could do some emissions tuning.

I don't understand the boost problem either :(

I did a little research on the problem you have and it seems as if some people somehow end up having the restrictor pill that suppose to be in line 1 end up in line 3 in this diagram
Image
they experience the exact same symptoms you're having, and once they free up that restrictor pill and put it back in line 1 then they can get target boost again

Thanks for pulling the effort and research on that man. I appreciate it.
I should have been more clear in my issues, but didn't want to hijack your thread.
So let me put my pirate hat on and continue and load up the musket.
I bought a pre-loved and modified wrx wagon that has a stand alone fuzzy logic boost controller that will do anything physically possible to make sure you hit 18 PSI or die trying. Provides for rock steady boost level, and awesome spool-up.
Day two of ownership and things go all wiggy. Replace MAF, both O2, spark plugs... all to no avail.
Found that a custom map had been burnt into the ECU in non-standard location. This prevented the use of RomRaider or other open source tuning from accessing the current map or being able to flash anything else on it.
When you are like me and have extra ECU's lying around, I got my opensource tuning learn on with the help of Dr.WRX and Sabre and swapped the ECU for the one that we could opensource.
That swapped ECU is like some super zombie that somehow overrides the boost controller and won't even run wastegate pressure.

So, long story short, yes, the symptoms do match what can happen with a turbo swap and the restrictor not going in. In my case, the actual hardware never changes, same turbo, same lines and everything. Swapping ECU's makes my wagon sad.

Already did. That one we were able to flash. But when swapped in, it has no boost. Even though the stand alone controller should not give a flying leap about what ecu is in there or what it is set for.

So before, the boost would climb, but you would get bucking and "knock like" flashes anywhere above 8psi or so.
Now you can't even get 5psi?
I hate to say it, but I'm beginning to think that perhaps the turbo needs to be pulled and inspected.
It would seem an unlikely culprit, but it appears to be the next logical link in the chain.
You pulled the TMIC, and after much work, checked that box.
o2 sensors? Check!
MAF? Check!
Plugs? Check!
That leaves:
Solenoid?
Turbo?
Maybe compression?

Nah, the boost on the original ECU goes just fine, but with the bucking.
Change ECUs and then get no boost, even though the HKS is on.

I just swapped out the Blue's boost solenoid with Julian's ECBS and am all happy again. Let me use that on the wagon and see if that plays a part.
Else, next stop; turboville.

Get started by making a copy of your current image. Burn this to a disk and put a copy on-line. This is your base that you start everything from. Making a copy of the image is a good start to feeling comfortable with the interface. Start looking at the variables of the map, just to get familiar...
Then you can get into tuning.
