Parking lights won't turn off...

Post by sirwilliam »

Well, it just started doing it this morning. Not sure if it was before or after I went to the car wash...can't figure they are the culprits...but they were inside the car vacuuming it so maybe they hits some wire(s)?

I got back to the office after getting the car washed and somebody came in telling me that my parking lights were still on. Went outside and tried turning it on and off but still wouldn't turn off. Couldn't find any relays in the 2 fuse boxes (1 in engine bay and other bottom left of driver's dash. I disconnected the ground from the battery to turn it off but this is a pain if you are running a protune map

I will try going back out to see if any wires got loose under the dash.

Any help or info would be extremely appreciated.

Same thing happened to me. On the WRX, there is a switch mounted on the top of the steering column that I hit while installing the gauges. Turned the parking lights on but I didn't know why.

Don't know if that is the same swithc you tried, or if it is even the same place on the FXT

I feel retarded for saying this, but I had this same problem... and it turns out that I had hit the little "P" button on top of the steering wheel (no, not the hazards). There is actually a fuse in the engine bay that you can pull to deactivate them as well...
