 DC emissions testing prep
Hey guys
Was wonding if enyone had any experience with emissions testing in the District. I've got mine coming up next month and its my first since I started modding the exhaust of my 07 wrx. The relevant mods are Cobb st2 OTS and the Turbo XS catted 'stealth' turboback. I figure if they only do OBDII testing I'll be fine since I'm not throwing cels, but I'm concerned about a sniffer test. Anybody been down to the testing station in SW recently?

I visited the testing station in SE a little over a year ago: no sniffer test, it's OBDII all the way. they will bust your balls about window tint, even if it's just 5% over their limit.

 Re: DC emissions testing prep
Yeah they did away with safety inspections but kept the smog testing. Basically they won't catch bad brakes, seat belts, lights or mirrors but they'll catch me if my tailpipe is stinkin'!

Welp, I passed with flying colors! On a side note, how many DC emissions inspectors does it take to locate the ODBII port on a 2007 Impreza? . . . . . . . . 3 !

 Re: DC emissions testing prep
haha, nice!
though, i don't understand why they got rid of the safety inspection... trying to one-up maryland in crap cars running on the road?
i've received the strangest comments and feedback at that station... for example, with the STi, when I had my roof rack on, they came over and told me I had to take it off. I was pretty impressed that they actually could tell whether it was DOT legal or whatever that quickly... turned out the guy was just kidding because "it was ugly".
