DCAWD Meet Thursday July 30 Hard Times

Post by drwrx »

Hello all,
The next meeting of DC All Wheel Drive will be on Thursday, 07/29/15 at 7pm. We will be meeting outside for a little while, then going inside to grab some grub! While we are outside, please stay out of the right of ways. No standing in the road and such, just stay in between or in front of the cars :) If hoods open, only leave them open long enough to do your business.

Hard Times is located at:
6362 Springfield Plaza
Springfield, Virginia 22150

Most up to date information found in our forum here.

Let me know if you are coming so that we can try to keep an accurate count.

Note: This is an AWD, we meet no matter what Mother Nature throws at us! Even if you do not have a AWD car, feel free to come!

Good choice putting $4,000 rims on your 1990 Honda Civic. That's like Betty White going out and getting her tits done.

So it turns out the problem with the caprice was the EGR valve opening too fast. I installed a EGR block off plate as the first step of my fuel injection conversion and took it for a drive to test for vacuum leaks and it ran great. Shelving that project for a time when I have more money and doing more pressing issues, like painting the rust. Fixed the water leak in the cabin over the weekend.

Glad to hear that it was something "relatively" simple. It's nice to stumble upon fixes even when they are not intended. Let's hope the running great continues!

Water from the AC condensation hose? Had that problem with my 96. Had to pull up the carpet in the front right and spray it all down for mold... PITA.

No, rain water in the cabin. I've been battling it with water absorbing kitty litter. The car needed some sealant around the lid of the heater box. It should be fixed now, but I'll need to wait for the next big rain storm to be sure.

Well, tonight is the night for rain. Hope you stay dry.
When I had my watermelon episode, I had about half an inch of water in the footwell. Got most of it up with towels and whatnot, but the carpet and sound absorber were killing me. I plugged a de-humidifier into an extension cord and ran it with the windows shut overnight. Dry in the morning.
